How to Begin
Consulting projects begin with a thorough understanding of the client’s problem and desired solution. We prepare a detailed plan that includes how we will analyze the problem. This plan includeS performance milestones.
The Value of Discovery
The client is advised to seriously consider a Discovery Phase. This phase includes one-on-one interviews with internal members of the client organization and may include customers and vendors.
Case History
An established residential and commercial moving company added three new business units and wanted to consolidate all units into a new branded entity that would compete more effectively for higher profit projects. The CEO realized that the company lacked marketing experience, and wanted a project leader who could involve the management team while maintaining control and adhering to an aggressive time schedule. One specific task we were asked to perform was to gather a vast amount of content and consolidate it into a consistent, logical, and professional format.
We developed a three-stage plan of discovery, content development, and Internet and graphic execution. By working with detailed agendas, internal meetings maximized individual contributions and kept all client team members informed.
As a result of this project, the client received a new website, brand identity, and presentation package which he could now present to high-end prospects.
One unplanned benefit of the project was the creation of a 10-point selling proposition that helped the client communicate value and move beyond the price issue. This occurred after the Discovery process revealed features and benefits that were not being recognized.
