About Project ManagementThe purpose of project management is to deliver a project or service according to specific objectives. It is particularly important when a company lacks the scope of knowledge to understand how individuals and programs interact when facing unfamiliar activities as is often the case with marketing and the Internet.
Project management has several
key components:
- Organize resources
- Assign responsibility
- Maintain communication
- Provide for contingency changes
LeadershipA project management leader also has the opportunity to anticipate and contribute to activities that team members are not acquainted with.
Case StudyThe owner of this mid-size business wanted to redesign his website for both image and performance reasons. We were contacted to provide content.
At the first meeting, the client team presented several preliminary website redesigns. We cautioned the client that website redesigns at this stage of the project were not practical. To support our position, we provided a project outline that demonstrated how the project should evolve from data gathering through launch. The client accepted the logic of our proposal and we began the data gathering phase.
The data gathering yielded several insights that helped drive the website design into a totally unexpected direction.
We presented the client with 10,000 words of content filling 50 unique pages. Included with each page was its URL, page title, H1 header, and optimized keyword content.
